Arranging filming

This is a screen shot of mine, Abbie's and Niall's Facebook chat arranging a day to film some more of our thriller film trailer. We arranged to get the props we needed for that particular scene eg the flowers and to bring in the filming equipment.

Changes

We have already come across something that we will have to change. Originally we wanted to call the secondary school that Zac, Stacey and Kimberly attend, Pennyville Secondary School and the town that they live in Pennyville, however, when we were filming the police station we realised that the sign said 'St Neots Police Station'. Therefore, we need to change the school name to St Neots Secondary School and keep the name of the town as St Neots.

Location ideas

These are some of our ideas about the locations that we will use in our film trailer. We have also thought about the actual locations that we will use to film. We decided on locations that are easily accessible at all times as myself, Abbie and Niall all have commitments that restrict our filming availability.

Film Titles- Bloodshed

The image below is of myself, Abbie and Niall making and editing our film title.

We decided to use the colours black, white and red as they stand out a lot. The colour black connotes death, fear and pain and the colour red is commonly associated with blood which will appear quite frequently in our film opening. The colour white contrasts with the black background making 'Bloodshed' stand out more. Also the colour white is very clinical and is commonly associated with hospitals. Hospitals frequently appear in thrillers, whether they are for psychological or physical reasons.  

We chose this serif font as we wanted our title to look like it had been hand written and scribbly. Also, when we saw this font we initially thought that the random splatters looked like splatters of blood which fits in perfectly with our trailer as Zac is found in the toilets with his wrists slit.

The images below show the different options we had as to where we wanted the knife to be placed within the title. 

The image below shows the finished film title. We decided to place the knife behind the word 'blood' as it stand out more than if the knife is behind the word 'shed' due to the colours contrasting.

Zac Lane

The baseball cap will be significant when Stacy takes the case into her own hands as she will find the hat in a place other than the school toiles, which stems her suspicions that her best friends death was in fact murder, not suicide.

Stacey Jones

Like Zac, Stacey will also be wearing casual clothes due to it being a regular school day and typical teenage clothes. These include...

Outfit number 2-

Outfit number 3-

• A high neck white top

She will have a small amount of makeup on including mascara and will wear her hair down to show her femininity.

She will be wearing black as black connotes fear suggesting she is scared that something could happen to her as well as her best friend. 

Detective Marshall

Detective Marshall will be wearing smart clothes as the work she is in comes with a lot of power and authority. These clothes include...

• Black trousers 
• A red top/shirt as red connotes strength
• A black blazer or coat
• Black heeled boots or shoes
• Glasses

Like Stacey, Detective Marshall will have her hair down with some makeup on to connote femininity.

Mrs Lane

• Blue skinny jeans as blue connotes calmness and tranquillity which is commonly associated with women and femininity
• A jumper/top
• Slippers

Mrs Lane will also be holding a mug of tea/coffee which she will drop and smash on the ground when Detective Marshall tells her the tragic news.

Kimberly

Kimberly will be in casual clothes however, will be a little more dressed up. For example, she will be wearing...

• A black leather jacket
• A top/jumper
• Black jeans
• Black leather converse (trainers)

Kimberly will be wearing black as it is a serious colour which will help the audience understand that Zac and Stacey are a little intimidated by the type of person Kimberly is. Also, the leather in the jacket and trainers will emphasise this as leather is commonly worn by intimidating and almost scary people such as bikers.

vlog- police station

This vlog shows myself, Abbie and Niall filming and preparing to film the scenes at the St Neots police station. We decided that only one shot outside the police station would fit our trailer best as it fits in with our story line more. We filmed this one shot several times though to make sure it was the best it could possibly be. For example, we changed the camera angle and also Stacey's actions during the shots.

Filming

The images below are of myself and Niall filming outside St Neots police station. Abbie is acting in this shot. We made sure we got permission from the police before we started filming to make sure we could use this shot in our thriller trailer. However, we were unable to film Abbie walking up to the door of the police station due security reasons.
